The Johnny Cash Story
From 2008 – 2013 (and occasionally to this very day) Warren toured extensively with Roger Dean’s Johnny Cash Story as electric lead guitarist and backing vocalists for the UK’s first major theatre production to the late Johnny Cash. Not only a musician but also booking, company and tour manager for the show’s producers Boldean Productions. Warren still returns to work with Roger and the boys inbetween his own busy tour schedule.
Acoustic Magazine 2012 – 2013
From 2012 until the end of 2013 Warren was advertising sales manager for Acoustic Magazine, the UK’s ONLY dedicated acoustic guitar magazine. Owned by Blaze Publishing, Acoustic was a new title within the companies extensive portfolio and an advertising manager with a good knowledge of guitar brands was required. During his 18 months on the magazine Warren made a very positive impact. His major international clients included Fender, Taylor, Gibson, Deering, North American Guitar, Elixir and D’Addario as well as many other niché brands of all sizes. When the offer to tour came in, for Warren it was time to hit the road again.
The London Acoustic Guitar Show 2012/2013
Possibly the UK’s leading guitar show, the London Acoustic Guitar Show, commonly known as LAGS has grown from strength to strength during the last 3 years and is now a major force behind the re-stimulation of the electric guitar market which has seen a huge downward trend during the last 5 years. Warren was greatly responsible for encouraging many of the worlds leading acoustic instrument brands to exhibit their products in the British capital at the Olympia Conference Centre, Kensington, where the show has been held each year. The show also featured many headline acts from around the globe, most notably Newton Faulkner, Gordon Giltrap and Sandi Thomm.
Since 2003 regular performances have taken place involving Warren with the German pop duo 78 Twins and their musicians. There is no denying that Germany produces some of the finest musicianship in the world and the audiences love to hear it when brothers Bastian and Benny Korn make their sounds.
Lutz is one of the Germany’s leading figures on the Jazz and Blues scene and it was he who first brought Warren to Deutschland during the 2003 recording sessions with the 78 Twins, Paul Leegan and Dickie Bishop, later to be joined by Lonnie Donegan jnr. As with the 78 Twins, Warren regualr meets with Lutz on his travels to Germany and has also enjoyed playing banjo with his Dixieland Jazz Band.
